Alternative modalities to compliment recovery, prevent muscle injury and improve performance

Dry needling/acupuncture (30 mins)

£45

Athletes often suffer from overuse injuries such as tendonitis or runner's knee. Dry needling targets the painful areas directly, releasing muscle knots and reducing inflammation, which leads to faster pain relief. This allows you to return to your activities quicker and with less discomfort.

Dry needling can be used to help treat edema, to improve range of motion, to improve neuromuscular firing of a muscle, and to relieve pain.

Cupping (30 mins)

£45

Athletes use cupping to help with pain, muscle fatigue and recovery. Cupping is a drug-free therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction, relieving muscular pains and providing more flexible muscles. This is because cupping acts as an inverted massage: rather than applying pressure the skin is pulled away with similar effects. This can also be seen in the smooth sheet of connective tissue (fascia) that covers the muscles.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY COMING SOON!

Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), is used to promote healing and pain relief in musculoskeletal conditions. It works by delivering high-energy sound waves to targeted tissues, stimulating the body's natural healing processes, increasing blood flow and breaking down calcifications. It's often used as a second-line treatment for conditions like plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy, and tennis elbow.

New and alternative treatments/services coming soon
